April is National Stress Awareness Month

Let's deal with stress in a healthy way....

Stress is a normal part of human existence; therefore, no one is exempt from experiencing it. We are living through a global pandemic. Stress can be debilitating, and it can cause and aggravate health problems. I have seen the symptoms that have been generated from the stressors of the COVID-19 pandemic. My patients have reported undesired changes in their weight, increased drinking, elevated financial stress, and newfound negative behaviors to cope with prolonged stress of isolation and trauma from the pandemic. It is vital for us to recognize stress, how it affects us as individuals, and how we deal with our stress.

How we experience and handle stress is imperative. I want to share my tools and techniques to help my clients empower themselves and get through stress in the healthiest way possible. We may not always notice when tension is building, but it is there. Having the proper coping strategies can be life-altering (take it from me!).

  1. Practice meditation-

Silencing the mind is one of the most effective ways to manage stress.
